Abstract

The environmental issues stemming from plastic food packaging have become increasingly prominent, necessitating urgent research and development of new food packaging solutions.Bio-based composite film is biodegradable, pollution-free, green, and safe.Starch has been widely used as a composite film matrix due to its biodegradability and good film-forming properties.Recent studies have found that the addition of plant polyphenols can improve the film formation and physicochemical properties of starch matrix films through the interaction with starch.In this paper, the main components and preparation process of plant polyphenol-starch based composite film, the interaction mechanism between plant polyphenol and starch in the film system, and the performance characteristics of the composite film were introduced.The influencing factors of the interaction between plant polyphenol and starch were analyzed.This paper provides theoretical and practical basis for the application of plant polyphenol-starch based composite film in the field of food packaging and the development and utilization of plant active ingredients.
