Abstract

The fifty-three Listeria monocytogenes isolated from raw meat were characterized by serotyping and pulsed-field gel electrophoresis(PFGE).These strains distributed in 5 serotypes. The main serotypes were 1 /2a,1 / 2b and 1 /2c,the rates of which were 54.72%,20.75% and 18.87%,respectively.All tested strains were grouped into 17 PFGE types(A ~ Q) by genotyping using PFGE.Type Q was the most prevalent, accounting for 22.64% of all serotypes. These results indicate that the method based on PFGE in combination with serotypes analysis can be used to differentiate L.monocytogenes.
