Abstract: Myogenic regulatory factors( MRFs) consisted of Myogenic determining factor( MyoD),Myogenin( MyoG),Myogenic factor 5( Myf5) and Myogenic factor 6( Myf6). MRFs is a candidate gene in meat quality. This gene family played an important role in muscle growth and keeping muscle traits. This article introduced the structure and function of MRFs; cloning full-length cDNA of this gene family was reviewed as well as the effect of expression and polymorphisms on meat quality.
