Abstract: In order to investigate the contamination of Staphylococcus aureus in the imported ready-to-eat foods from border trade in Yunnan province, 459 samples of 10 categories collected from 5 border port cities were examined for S. aureus. Biochemical identification, automatic microbial identification (VITEK) and 16S rDNA sequence identification were performed for the isolation of suspicious S. aureus. At the same time, the phylogenetic tree and homology analysis were constructed by using 16S rDNA sequence. The results showed that the detection rate of S. aureus was 0.43%, all of which were candy and chocolate, accounting for 3.8% of this category. Nine strains of S. aureus were isolated from two positive foods, according to phylogenetic analysis of 16S rDNA phylogenetic tree and genetic evolution, these S. aureus strains did not show significant genetic and evolutionary differences in different sample sources. The results provide theoretical and technical support for the establishment of foodborne pathogenic bacteria tracing technology and pathogenic bacteria safety-warning platform for border trade food import in Yunnan province.
